It had been raining for weeks in Konoha. The sky was dark even during the day and everything seemed somehow sad and depressing. The people of Konoha tried to maintain their everyday life as normal as possible but the constant lack of light did nothing to help them lift their spirits.

One of the few who didn't mind the bad weather was a certain pink-haired medic-nin.

In fact she found some sort of consolation in it, at least she didn't have to put on the fake smile every morning as she used to do, now that everyone had the same expression of sadness or boredom on their faces.

Sakura Haruno had had a long, tiring day. Several badly injured ANBU members had been brought to the hospital after a S-class mission had failed in the most horrible way. Everyone was running around, trying to do their best to help their fellow shinobi struggling for their lives. In deep consentration Sakura tried to extract the very last chakra she had left from her body to the wounded man before her.

Her eyes felt heavier than ever and the constantly increasing pain in her members kept reminding her that she was quickly running out of chakra, but she bit her lip and kept going. She wasn't going to give up.

Suddenly she felt a hand on her shoulder.

"Sakura, go home."

She turned around and looked straight into her sensei's worry-filled eyes.

"Tsunade-sama, I'm alright." She tried to give her mentor a reassuring smile but failed miserably as her muscles wouldn't obey her anymore.

"No. No you are not."

"But.."

"No buts. You're no good to me here if you keep exhausting yourself into that condition every day."

"I'm sorry, it's just that-"

"Just that you don't want to give up. I know, but you can't save anyone if you don't save yourself first. Now go home and take the next day off. You need it."

Sakura sighed. There was no arguing against this woman. "Thank you, Tsunade."

Even the few hundred meters to her home from the hospital seemed to take forever. When Sakura finally reached her apartment she felt like she could sleep while standing. She tore her clothes off on her way to the bathroom and let the tube fill with almost boiling hot water. She stayed in the bath for over an hour and managed to climb up only when the water started to get cold.

Feeling just a bit better she crawled into her bed without bothering even put on any clothes. She was asleep before even realizing she had closed her eyes.

The kunoichi's peaceful slumber was distracted by a whisper that brought her quickly back from her dream world.

"Sakura, I want you."

She could feel his lips on her neck ravishing her soft skin and his hands around her waist claming her as his own.

"Sasuke, not now."

"Yes. Now."

"But I'm exhausted.."

He wouldn't stop and soon she realized that she wouldn't be getting sleep before he got exactly what he wanted. With a sigh Sakura gave in and kissed him back.

She knew he wouldn't notice her moans of pleasure were all but real. He never did.

Or if he did he didn't care.

As he reached the peak of his lust a single tear escaped her emerald eye.

Many more followed that night as she sobbed herself into sleep after he'd passed out, never saying a word to her.
