The Solution to Everything
Raito sighed deeply, resisting the urge to rub his burning eyes that ached for sleep. He had to keep up the facade of determination, anger and hurt. And really, it was getting quite irksome. Though, all of his blunders in personality were covered with the fact that 'of course he'd be snappish, with a shock like that.' but he'd bitten off Matsuda's head four times already. By the third time, every one had figured it was best to leave him alone. All the better in his opinion.
He scrolled through the list of men killed that day and heaved a sigh. He was so very tired of being so perfect. L turned to him suddenly, unnaturally wide eyes looking gruesome in the flase computer light. His spoon glittered from where it hung in his mouth.
"Is something wrong, Raito-kun?" L asked monotonously around the spoon. Of course, only L would ignore his irritated mood and talk to him. L watched him, waiting for an answer. Though from the scowl on Raito's face, it should have been obvious. The detective took his spoon from his mouth with his forefinger and thumb, dipping it back into the large funnel shaped bowl in front of him, spooning more parfait into his mouth.
"Something wrong?" he repeated, almost angrily. L simply nodded. " of course something's wrong." L nodded again, asking him to elaborate. "My dad nearly died of a heart attack! I thought Kira got him!"
Of course, the last part was added just for effect. But if his father died, it could seriously screw up all of his plans. Raito watched as L silently hopped from his computer chair, disappearing around an ill-lit corner. In a few minutes, L came back, carrying something behind his back. When he was in front of Raito, he showed him his 'surprise'. One of his kabob sticks loaded with marshmallows and waffles, bits of chocolate and toped with a donut.
Raito scowled, not even bothering to saay no to the 'gift'. "is that your solution to everything?" he dubiously asked.
L turned to him, face strait as he pulled a marshmallow off the sharp metal stick. "Yes."
If what he said was true, beating L would be easier than he thought.
OWARI
just a small drabble... I'm supposed to be reading. But the scary stories aren't scary enough. Anyway, I watch L: Change the World, probably the last live action movie (unless they plan on coming out with the BB murder cases) and I noticed L always offered those 'sweet kabob' (as I've decided to call them) to anyone if they were upset. How cute, lol. Review please.
