Chapter 1

It was a typical morning, one in which began with Kagome's typical routine for school. As a second year in high school, and quickly approaching her third, she was beginning to buckle down with her studies, and prepping for an advantage for her third year, or at least those were the plans.

A loud knock resounded throughout her room in which she was gathering her things, and she looked up and blinked curiously at the door before responding.

"Come in!"

Kagome blinked in slight surprise when her mother walked in half expecting it to be Souta, her younger brother. Though only a second past before she gave her mother a smile in greeting and her mother returned it with her own, although hers was fake, and her eyes spoke of a deep sadness that seemed to enrapture her mother's very soul.

"Kagome?" Her mother inquired softly when Kagome remained oddly silent, her eyes creasing in concern.

Blinking, out of her stupor, she shook her head and responded to her mother's inquiry.

"Yes mom?" she managed to say softly.

Her mother seemed to hesitate for a second before broaching the topic in which had been weighing on her mind as of late.

"Kagome, do… do you ever wonder why, your father is never around?"

Her mother seemed to have trouble with asking the new, yet simple question. Kagome could only furrow her brows in confusion of the topic since her mother had never approached It until this point.

"I guess I do, I mean, he is our father, and he Is supposed to be with us as a happy family. But I always assumed he was dead or something," Kagome finished quietly, hoping her last comment wouldn't cause her mother too much additional distress.

The response in which she garnered from said person was another said smile with the light nod of a head.

" Perhaps, this will help…" her mother murmured as she approached her daughter to place her fingertips upon her forehead.

Once the contact was made, thousands of memories seemed to rush into her mind, nearly causing a serious migraine before the rush abruptly stopped. Kagome mouth hung open in shock and she sat in her bed, processing, while her mother slowly exited.

'She will know what to do, it is time.'

When the though ran its course throughout her mind, her daughter seemed to pick up on it, with tears brimming her eyes, and she jumped out the window, somehow without getting hurt, and leaped into the well.

Upon arriving on the other side smoothly, Kagome stared up at the sky, mesmerized, before collapsing on her butt as the world seemed to crash around her. The shock she had been in, began to wear off the longer she watched the pure white clouds roll about lazily in the boundless, blue sky.

'So it's true after all.'

As her thoughts consumed her, Kagome remained sitting inside the bottom of the infamous bone-eaters well.

A/N: Okay guys, so, got rid of the other rewrite thingy, because the original is trash, so lets just fix that rn.

I know, I know, I'm a terrible person, making you wait two years, how sadistic of me right?

But you know, couldn't sleep so I did this... yeah... when I should be doing my AP class homework.

Oh well.

Hope you enjoyed.
