Disclaimer: Don't own Walking Dead
AN: Season 4 is off to a great start, although I'm sure I wasn't the only Carl/Beth fan who raged when I saw Zach, aka Walker Chow, kiss Beth. Like, WTF!? And then it, this, came to me.
How would Carl have reacted when Beth and Walker Chow started dating?
Enjoy
Letting Go
Carl was heartbroken.
A group of college kids had come and joined the prison around a week ago. Nothing special after taking in a bunch of people over the last five months after The Governor vanished and Andrea died.
He's seen Beth eyeing one of the college guys, Jack, no that wasn't it, he thought. Mack? Zach! Yeah that was the name of the bastard. Carl didn't think much of it, knowing that he and Beth had a thing going on that was almost a year going.
So, much to his heartbreak, he saw Beth and Zach hugging in the garden. He was in the prison watchtower, retrieving a sniper rifle that Glenn left in the tower. When he saw them, his anger took hold and he pointed the sniper rifle towards the head of the boy that was hugging his crush.
Images of Jody flooded through his head as he aimed the sniper rifle down towards Zach. The face of the boy that he killed was molding onto the face of the boy hugging Beth. Fear and anxiety took Carl over as his breathing became ragged.
Was he really thinking about killing this boy just because he was getting close to Beth? Was he really that far gone? No. This was Shane level stuff. Shane was gonna kill his dad just to get to his mom. Carl thought he was an asshole for doing that. Why should he follow in his steps?
But, now Carl was starting to get it. Shane cared a lot about his mother. Cared enough that he was gonna kill his friend for her. Why should Carl hesitate to kill a complete stranger that was moving in on his girl?
But that was it. Beth wasn't his girl. They were just friends with him having feelings for her. And as he turned the scope to her to see her face, he saw that she was smiling and looked happy.
Carl saddened as he lowered the scope. He shouldn't ruin this for her. He scoffed as he turned and started walking down the stairs, passing Glenn on the way.
"Here's your fuckin' rifle." He handed to the sympathetic Asian man.
Glenn saw Beth and Zach on the way here and figured Carl had saw too. He felt bad. He should've gone to get his own rifle but Hershel asked him to help him with something with the gardening.
"I'm sorry..." he apologized to the disappearing Carl.
End of Letting Go
I'm gonna do a follow up to this with Zach's death and one on why Beth agreed to date him.
Not my best but I hope you enjoyed it.
Also, I'm working on my own original story on FictionPress which will be posted soon. I have the same username on there so if you're a fan of me, you can check in if you want; but start looking in about a week.
Hope you enjoyed the oneshot and have a nice day.
