Disclaimer: I don't own SC, just the story line !

A relaxing cool breeze coated the atmosphere as Muugen observed all of the beauteous features of the lake. He had been separated from the group for some time, and Fuu was beginning to get anxious as she sat by the fire in the company of Jin, waiting for his return.

Jin repeatedly wiped his glasses off on his kimono, attempting to make them clearer. Fuu sat across from him, twirling

a strand of her beautiful brown hair around her petite finger as she fiddled with piece of stray of grass lying on the hard earth.

"Jin, what's going on with Muugen?" Fuu looked towards Jin only to be ignored by him. He continued on cleaning his glassed as if he never had heard her.

She knew that Jin knew something about Muugen's weird behavior since they talked all the time, supposedly in secret, but Fuu used to spy on them all the time during their man to man talks. Unfortunately, she had missed out on something that they had discussed; her cocky confidence assured her.

"Look, Jin. I know that you know something about Muugen that I don't know, so just spill it! I know you can hear me, damn it! Stop playing dumb!" Fuu yelled, making Jin drop his glasses in the surprise of the volume change in her voice.

Jin knew that Fuu was a feisty type of woman, a woman who had very little patience for stupidity. She always had a way of finding out the things she wanted to know regardless if you told her or not, but this time, Jin knew that he could not falter. But it was killing him sheltering this of a big of a secret from her, a secret that would ultimately change the way things would happen between the three of them.

He placed his glasses on his dark, glimmering eyes, clearing his throat.

"Please, Fuu. Don't pressure me into telling anything that isn't your business in the first place. This has nothing to do with you."

Fuu gave him a suspicious look, staring deeply into his eyes for a sign a weakness, a sign that indicate if she could break him or not, but this time, his eyes showed no indication of faltering .

"Please, Jin. I'm … I'm just worried about him, that's all. If this has nothing to do with me, then how come I can't know about it?" Her words penetrating his heart like a shattered piece of glass. He wanted to tell her, but he knew Muugen would kill him if he told a living a soul. But he could still drop hints, couldn't he?

"Go to the lake side. He's down there. He'll give you the answer you'll want to hear," Jin smiled, immediately regretting what he said as soon as Fuu looked at him puzzled.

"So you're still not gonna tell me? Fine then, I just have to interrogate Muugen then!" she pushed herself up from the dusty earth, stomping away from the campfire towards the lakeside.

"I know he's going to kill me, but it needs to be done," Jin thought to himself, chuckling as he removed his glasses from his face to continue his cleaning.
