Somebody sent in a request so I'm uploading this, and maybe a different story :D 4/8/12
"Nicolette! Are you ready for school?" My Gran was yelling from downstairs. It was my first day of school in the middle of the 2nd quarter. I didn't want people to really notice me so I wore jeans, a black tank top, a red sweater, and black converse. I grabbed my backpack and ran downstairs to get to the bus. I gave Gran a quick kiss and sprinted out of the house. As I turned the corner I saw the bus leaving.
"No!" I shouted. I started running trying to catch up but I was too slow. I saw people laughing. I was really embarrassed. I kept running until I reached the school and I heard the bell ring. I ran inside and went searching for my first class. As I found it I opened the door and every head in the class turned my way.
"Oh, hello," the teacher said, "Class, met our new student, Nicolette." I looked straight at the floor. "Nicolette, you can go and sit behind Tommy." I looked up and searched for the empty seat. I found it in the back, thank God, behind a brown-haired boy. I quickly went back there and sat down. As the day was about over Tommy turned around.
"Hey," he said.
"Uh, H-hi," was all I could reply with and looking at my hands.
"I'm Tommy," he said.
"Y-yeah." I looked up quickly. I realized that Tommy had brown eyes like mine.
"Um," he looked at the floor, "nice shoes."
"T-thanks," was all I could even manage to say. Tommy was unbelievably cute. He turned around. I mentally gave myself a face palm. Finally the bell rang and I could go home. As I was walking to the bus, a girl with straight blonde hair walked beside me.
"Stay away from Tommy. He's just giving you sympathy because you're new." I gave her a questioning look. "You heard me ugly." She skipped away and my eyes started to tear up. I was standing there and some boys accidentally bumped into me causing me to drop my books.
"Watch where you're standing geek!" A tall red-headed boy yelled at me. I picked up my books, my eyes stinging with tears. I looked up and saw Tommy in the group.
"Yeah, God, stay out of the way," he added. He and his friends walked onto the bus. I thought he was nice. I guess I was wrong. I walked onto the bus and the only seat open was with some 3rd grader. I sat by her, and she started talking about her kittens at home. She was adorable. As the bus stopped in front of the corner by my house, Tommy also got up. I got off with him at my heels. I walked quickly around the corner. I hugged my books and went inside the house.
"Hi, sweetie," Gran greeted, "how was your day?"
"Uh, good." I replied lying, "I'm going to go do my homework." I ran upstairs and put my books on my desk, and sat there. I guess I shouldn't have assumed he was totally nice, he was a guy after all. I starred at my homework. i managed to get it down when I thought about what that girl had said. "Ugly," ran though my mind. I ate dinner and finally decided to go to sleep.
