The forest is alive with magic, stars struggling to break through the dense canopy of leaves above me, soft moss beckoning sleep.
Not yet, need to wait.
"It's beautiful here," I whisper, Robs shaky hands abandon their task of applying pressure to my side for a moment, gently resting on my forehead.
"Glad you're enjoying the scenery," he teases, voice breaking.
Crushing feet announce Flash's return to our location with Mike.
"Cavalry's here!" are the last words I hear, feeling myself finally slip into darkness, letting go of the pain and exhaustion. Don't need to wait anymore, Rob's not alone.
