A/n: this is my first Winx Club fic and I've only seen a hand full of episodes and done some on line research so forgive me if they are o.o.c. and please go easy on me
An Adventure in Friendship
Tecna rolled over and another coughing spell hit her already tired body. This one woke her roommate, Musa.
"Tecna, are you okay?" Musa asked
"I'm fine, go back to sleep" Tecna replied but Musa didn't listen, Tecna's voice didn't sound right for some off reason. Musa knew that meant something was wrong, she figured it meant Tecna was coming down with something, but she had no idea if she was right or not.
"Tecna, you know you can tell me if something's wrong." Musa said
"I know, Musa, just try and get some rest."
"Tecna," Musa sighed and sat up.
"Oh, if you insist, it's just a cough." Tecna said dismissively
Musa wasn't convinced, especially since she could tell Tecna had bundled herself up and the temperature was in the 70 (°F). She walked over to Tecna and placed a hand on her face
"And a fever"
"Must be a cold, but most colds don't cause sudden aches and nausea." Tecna thought not realizing she had said it aloud
"Aches, nausea, and this just came on within the last few hours?" Musa said in shock "You are sick"
She turned the lamp on to get a better look at her roommate and saw that she looked probably as bad as she felt.
"I'll be okay" Tecna said, not realizing that she looked bad
"Tecna, you look horrible, you're going to the nurse first thing in the morning, end of discussion... got it!"
"All right" Tecna groaned not felling like putting up a decent fight, or any fight at all at the moment.
The next morning the other girls found out about Tecna.
"It sounds like the flu to me," Bloom said
"Do you think Tecna has the flu?" Flora asked
"Definitely, Flo, what else could it be with these symptoms?"
"I agree," Stella said.
The girls went to class and Tecna went to the nurse after being threatened with several unpleasant spells by Musa, all of witch were hollow threats but the got the job done.
The fact that Tecna wasn't around made the day seem odd to the girls.
"Where is Tecna?" the teacher asked
"She's really not feeling good, she went to the nurse this morning while we were coming to class." Flora said
"She was up most of the night, coughing and sneezing." Musa said
The lesson went on and Flora took notes for Tecna so she could stay with the rest of the class.
Tecna gave a sigh, she wasn't sure she had made the right chose in going to the nurse, but the nurse on the other hand was.
"Tecna, you have a fever of 101.5°F, you need to take the medicine and get some rest," The nurse said firmly, leaving the fairy of technology no room for argument.
"Okay," Tecna sighed and took the medication then went to lay down only to find that sleep was eluding her.
'I can't believe this! I'm going to fall behind and there is a major test coming up. Not to mention my perfect attendance record for the year is out the window.' Tecna thought bitterly then soon fell into a restless sleep unable to keep her eyes open any longer.
