"Kill it! Ugh eww it's looking at me!"

I stood in the door of the closet, not understanding the problem. Well, I understood I suppose.

Jasper Whitlock, The God of War, fearless leader and fighter, was not so fearless after all.

"Jasper, calm down for crying out loud. You aren't going to get hurt, you're a Vampire for christ's sake!"

I really didn't see why a vampire would be so scared of a little spider. He was on his and Alice's bed, not taking his eyes off the closet for a second, as if he thought the spider would attack him if he did.

The rest of the family was away hunting. Jasper was the only one who had fed recently, so he got to stay behind.

Sighing, I approached the spider and scooped it up into a cup. It was harmless, but still when I turned around, Jasper flattened himself against the wall and hissed. I rolled my eyes and released the poor thing outside.

Of course, I almost dropped it several times before even making it outside, being the klutz I was. When I returned, Jasper was still on the bed, curled up into a fetal position.

"It's okay Jasper." I soothed. As much as I found his fear of spiders to be ridiculous, especially considering that he was basically indestructible, he was my brother, in all but blood, and I wouldn't have it any other way. I smiled and hugged him.

"I won't let those nasty spiders hurt you." I said as I fought to keep the smile off my face. I knew he was rolling his eyes. I laughed, unable to stop myself

"Shut up Bella." He grumbled, mouth twitching before he lost it too and joined my laughter.

"Oh, what would you do without me Jasper?" I teased.

"There'd be more spiders." I laughed even harder than I did before, unable and unwilling to help it.

We spent the rest of our time watching cheesy vampire movies. This was how I wanted to spend my eternity. With family. Jasper and the others were my family. Every single one of them, and I wouldn't have it any other way.
