Uncommon Knowledge
For anybody who knew the Host King personally (or impersonally for that matter), it was common knowledge that the blonde could play piano with an unparalleled expertise. Whenever commended for his skill, he would always give the credit to his mother - who had the patience and kindness to teach him the basics, and then put up with him as he progressed by playing badly at her bedside after she became too weak to teach him any further.
Yes, it was a well-known fact that Tamaki Suoh was a regular musical prodigy. However, only one other person ever got to see Tamaki during his most outstanding performances. Tamaki believed it was the presence of this person that was the reason for his playing reaching new heights during those times.
Tamaki had many memories of sitting at the piano in the third music room, gently pressing the keys in rhythmic progressions as his companion sat next to him, effortlessly crooning out soft words to go along with the notes drifting from the piano; His rich, deep baritone complementing the sprite tinkling of Tamakis virtuoso fingering. They had written many songs together, although they were the only ones to ever hear them. It seemed they harmonised completely, contrasting yet supplementing each other all at once.
If asked, Tamaki would say that his best performances are done in private, where his imagination and emotions can course freely. To his fans, this answer was mysterious and alluring, and they would swoon in delight. To his friends, it would seem overworked and predictable. Only to Tamaki would it seem perfectly believable and understandable.
It was common knowledge that the Host King could play piano with unparalleled expertise.
But it was only Tamaki who knew that the Shadow King could sing and had the voice of an angel.
