A/N: LOL yes, another prompt! #20; Year.

It had been a year since he died.

He died trying to save the town from being invaded by the Heartless and the Nobodies. While he managed to save the life of the townsfolk, he was too late to save his own. The moment he let his guard down for a mere second, one of the few remaining Nobodies attacked him, stabbing its claws into him and piercing his heart.

Aerith stood at the bailey, gazing into the distance with some flowers in her hand. It used to be his favorite place to go to whenever he had enough free time. Sometimes she would join him too and together they'd just sit in comfortable silence, sometimes talking and other times not.

Aerith smiled as she remembered that it was here, on this same very spot, that she shared her very first kiss with him. It was one of those kisses which imprinted themselves onto one's memories and heart.

She looked up into the sky as if talking to it.

"Remember this place? I always knew that I'd find you here. You were always so serious; brooding and whatnot during your free time."

The wind howled softly as if responding to her words.

"Sora made it. He has finally put an end to the Heartless and the Nobodies. Everything's alright now."

She swallowed hard as she opened her mouth to speak again.

"You know… even though we were together for a short time, those were one of the best times of my life. Just being with you…"

She let out a small sob.

"I miss you. I miss you so, so much. Sometimes I'd wake up in the morning expecting to see you there, but I see nobody. I always bake you your favorite chocolate cake, but then I remember that you're not here anymore."

Aerith hugged herself as the wind blew harder. The tears rolled down her cheeks silently as she struggled to wipe them away with the back of her hand.

She stretched out her arm. The wind gently picked up the small flowers and she watched as they're blown away by the wind; further and further away from her.

"Happy anniversary, Leon. I love you."

END.
