Happy Memorial Day everybody! Okay, so this is dedicated to those who died in the FAYZ. People in the FAYZ are remembering those who have died. Please R&R. One-shot. Oh and there will be LIES spoilers, so hopefully you read LIES.
*Disclaimer* I DO NOT OWN GONE OR ANY CHARACTERS! Michael Grant does.
Everyone in the FAYZ wanted to celebrate Memorial Day in their own little way. For some, who knew someone who died inside the dreaded dome, known as the FAYZ, they mourned in the house they lived in, and for others like Sam and Astrid, they went to visit the graves in the plaza, just to honor those who died.
May 30. A special day dedicated to those who died in war, now dedicated to those who died in the FAYZ.
There were many graves, which meant many deaths. So many lives lost, some that Sam wished he could have saved, when he couldn't.
Astrid held his hand, trying to keep them both from falling apart. Especially to keep Sam from falling apart. He would feel the guilt that he could've saved all these lives. The guilt would just eat him up inside.
Respect the dead.
That's what today was for here in the FAYZ.
It meant something for everybody. Everybody felt something for today. It was a valuable day, a holiday of its own kind.
"We're the lucky ones, because we're alive, and their also lucky, they get to be with God," Astrid said. She bit her lip saying this, and Sam could almost see a tear forming.
Sam never cared for God, and who even knew if there was one. And besides, what if what Orsay said was right? Are those dead back with their families?
No one deserved to die, and these are just kids who were under their feet. The graves were for the kids that died.
Sam saw Duck's cross. They didn't have his body, it was under the mine shaft with the gaiaphage, and he actually gave up his life, so they can save Lana, who could save Diana, Sam, Brianna, Edilio, and Dekka's life.
There was also Orsay's grave. Nerezza had strangled her and kid her; just because Orsay said that she had had enough with following her.
Sam couldn't forget Mother Mary. Poor Mary. She had gone insane last minute. She jumped off the cliff with all the prees. They had save most of the prees lives. Most. Not all, but most. Mary had her issues, she was anorexic and bulimic (A/N Did I spell that right? My spellcheck thing freezes up whenever I click something and yeah.) that she had gone insane and almost died from her eating disorders.
This world was just too insane. Too bizarre.
They still had to have hope. Hope for the better.
If it was even possible to hope for a better world. It would be nicer to hope for a better world, or to go back to the world that they had once knew it as.
God help them all.
Life in the FAYZ and you don't know what to expect, but still remember and morn all that have died. They were all too young and did not deserve this.
All too young.
This was how it was. People starving to death, people dying of thirst. People were dying everywhere, but at least they had Albert and Quinn feeding them.
Welcome to their sucky world.
Memorial Day was still a special day. May this day be a holiday in the FAYZ as one of everyone's favorite.
Okay, so I know it's short. Real short. But it's all I could think of, and I'm a bad writer so… Anyway, hope you y'all have a Happy Memorial Day, because I now have to go to my friend's house, whose dad is at war, so this is dedicated to her. Happy Memorial Day once again!
