Let's pretend Kensi and Deeks never hooked up.
When I was reassigned we were in a bad place. You doubted my feelings, afraid I'd leave you for him. I tried to tell you there is nothing between me and him. It may sound clique but he's like a kid brother. He's my work partner and friend, and nothing more. Now thinking back, I should have been more understanding, more willing to express my feelings for you. You kept me going while I was there with thoughts of returning home, coming back to you.
We didn't get a chance to be alone once I returned home. All I wanted to do was pull you close. I've missed your body next to mine, the smell of your shampoo and the sound of your voice. Sadly all we had was a small exchange, a simple "I am glad you're back."
Now here I am standing at your door key in hand. I silently let myself in. The apartment is dark except for a small light coming from under your bedroom door. You must have fallen asleep with your laptop open again. I disrobe while making my way to your room, grabbing the shirt you laid out for me. I'm impressed you would consider I would come here. You look so peaceful. I move your computer and slide in bed beside you.
"Kensi?" You ask curling up against me.
"It's me. Go back to sleep darling. We can talk in the morning."
"Ok." You mumble
I feel your breathing even out, telling me you slipped back into sleep.
"I love you, Nell" I whisper. "You are my home."
