Summary: Grissom sits thinking about Sara's leaving. Short Drabble, it's not great but I wrote in a short time so :P

Disclaimer: I don't own CSI, and I probably never will. I have no Beta so all mistakes are mine.

I'm sure we are all upset about Jorja's departure but at the end of the day, she needed something more than just CSI alone. I realised I didn't post this, I posted something else twice, damn i'm stupid!

I received news that my high school science teacher had passed on so this fic is dedicated to him.

He'll Wait For Her.

The distinguishing sound of rain drops fell from the early morning sky hitting the window pane just a few feet away from the townhouses owner. The small step that led from the main entrance to the living room was holding up the crying man, the only existing support he had. His tears mimicking the current situation of the rain, gripping onto the last piece of evidence he had of Sara's departure.

Grissom wasn't sure why, he should have been happy for Sara the fact that she didn't decide to stay and go through a mental breakdown, instead she done something for herself and albeit sacrifices were going to have to be made. This is what he was afraid of when he finally let her in his heart. Grissom was sure that Sara would realise she was making a mistake by being with him and leave for someone much younger, but no matter how or why she decided to leave she had still done it.

Things weren't going to be the same anymore, he'd never felt quite so close to someone before and having a small taste of happiness was better than none at all right? Gil knew what she had gone through as a child and he couldn't even imagine a scared and incredibly lonely Sara. As much as he'd love to hold her right then, he couldn't. The only thing that could comfort him on a basic level was the warm memories that had shared since she arrived in Las Vegas.

It would be a lie if he had told people that he didn't feel anything for the brunette when she made her entrance in his life back at the seminar. Grissom could have sworn that his heart skipped a beat when she sat a few feet away from him during the lecture and when he worked with her during a case in San Francisco. Getting to send a few emails and exchange a few friendly phone conversations weren't enough so when the opportunity came to bring her down to the infamous Sin City, he couldn't pass it off.

He being fifteen years her senior, he knew that having a relationship was off the books but she had made it clear on few occasions that the feelings were mutual. Seeing Sara in so much danger throughout the years gave him that push to open his eyes and forget the complications, they of all people would find a way around it. Making sure that all the miss spent years were made up for, he told her he loved her as much as he could. Gil was cold, he couldn't bare the thought of being without her and so the wall around his heart began to grow again, no one could pull it down except her, his Sara.

The reasons for her leaving were fair and he knew it must have been hard for her as much as it is for him. The only way to look beyond the pain and bleak outlook was to hope that one day, she might walk through that door again, rejuvenated and happy. Grissom would wait for her, forever.

THE END
