Shane sighed, staring down at the ring between his fingers.
He could hardly believe it himself, the fact he had been planning on proposing to Mitchie tonight.
Shane Gray? The Shane Gray? If he's ready for marriage, well then he must have found someone really special. His perfect girl.
Yeah he thought he had.
He'd dreamt of her walking down the isle in that beautiful white dress, placing this ring on her finger; promising he would spend the rest of his life with her for better or for worse.
Well, this wasdefinitely worse.
See, it's not everyday that you find your girlfriend making out with Barron is it?
Trust, he really wanted to believe the blatant lies Mitchie fed him later.
-Babe it wasn't what it looked like I would never cheat on you! -
Then at least he could wake up from this nightmare.
Shane knew that if he believed her then he was a fool. Nothing would ever be the same between them anyway.
"Look man... I'm sorry." Barron attempted a feeble apology. Shane resisted the urge to punch him right then, Instead, he just shookhis head and strode away.
Shane thought he had been a good boyfriend.
He listened to all her problems and every little thing she told him, comforted her when she was upset about the littlest, most stupid and unimportant of things.
He treated her well, took her out to dinner as often as could be, gave her impromptu kisses and gave her lilies, just because they were her favourite flower.
That's a good boyfriend, right?
Naturally he was focusing on the positive. Not the little pointless times they fought over nothing.
He tried to give Mitchie everything she wanted, everything she had dreamed of and more.
It turns out that everytime she said she was going out to meet with friends, she was sneaking out to meet Barron and deep down Shane knew it. He just didn't want to admit it.
Mitchie was acting more and more suspicious with everyday that passed but Shane wanted to cling to the dream a little longer.
He laughed coldly. How stupid could he have been? The Rock star would have easily jumped off of a cliff if Mitchie, that sweet innocent little camper asked him to. Ironic isnt it, that his heart had already fallen and was swimmming down in the water below, trying desperately not to drown. If he hadn't pulled it together, back up onto dry land and dropped that pretty dream.
Standing up, Shane ran a hand through his raven coloured hair and tossed the ring into the ocean- where it could lie forever with that pretty little dream.
