Chapter One-An Argument

This chapter has been written by Naiya…

B/N: Naiya and Sovay, driving a tank, firing cannonballs at the massive wall protecting canon, are still unable to make a dent in the ownership of any familiar characters or situations.

A/N: What my wonderful friend is trying to say in her roundabout way is—drumroll—we don't own anything! We're poor!

Dumbledore POV

"Love? What's the meaning of love, Harry? Do you have any idea?" I asked the boy gently. He fumed, picked up my smallest Sneakoscope, and threw it across the room, in a perfect I don't care, let me out of here! gesture. "Harry…answer me out loud, please."

"Love is pointless! All it ever did was get people killed! My mum and dad, Sirius—they're all dead because they loved me! That's where love got them, and there's no way I'm gonna make the same mistake!"

I chuckled. "Even Miss Weasley? Does she count in this?" If he did not admit to loving her, then he surely was a hopeless case. Voldemort's biggest weakness is his inability to love, and it is only Harry's ability to love that will allow him to triumph over Voldemort.

Harry stopped short. "Ginny," he echoed softly. "No, she doesn't count."

I smiled. "Ah—I think we may have a winner. You love Ginny, do you not?"

"Err...Professor, what does this have to do with anything?"

"Clearly, Harry, you have no interest in the lesson; you do make me wonder if there is any point in me teaching you anymore."

"But I don't get how this is going to help me defeat Voldemort!"

"Before you do anything, Harry, you must understand the power and beauty of love."

"I tried that, and look where it got me! I've been orphaned, dumped, and I'm hated by most of the Wizarding world!"

"Correction, Harry; most of the world admires your perseverance and dedication to a cause." Truly, Harry is a work of art. I do not know anyone nearly as foolhardy or brave as him—except for myself, of course.

"Love, shmove." He crossed his arms, flopped down into a chair, and glared at Phineas.

"Dumbledore, you need to start giving the children stiffer disciplinary measures! You don't want people to think you've gone soft on them, do you?" Phineas sneered.

I pointedly ignored Phineas' comment. "Harry, please stop acting like a toddler and face me." He growled, but turned around. "Now, I believe that if you witnessed love in action, you would be convinced of its importance and power. Why don't you observe the relationships of people in love, and think about how it strengthens them—"

"Weakens them, you mean. But I'll take that challenge," Harry responded, determined.

I felt alarm, and responded as reasonably as I could, "Challenge? What challenge?"

Harry smirked. "You'll see. Hogwarts is going to be love-crazy by the time I'm through. Love is just what you make it--you'll see love how I see it by the end of the year. Just watch."

Sorry about the shortness--it's the intro! Just wait until you find out what Harry has in store for Hogwarts...

He's gonna take it by storm. Just click the periwinkle button that says "Review", and maybe we'll be motivated to give up Calculus and update...
