A/N Just a one shot of what I thought, when first watching At World's End, was going to happen. :o) Set in At World's End, in the part where Elizabeth and Barbossa are bargaining for Will. Has now been edited, hoorah!
Elizabeth, Barbossa and Jack walked purposefully down the little sandbar-island-thingamajig. In a very Western-movie way, they stared down their enemies; Cutler Beckett and Davy Jones.
Will didn't really count, seeing as he was the fiancé of their king. Queen? Everybody did keep calling her king, which was rather strange in Jack's opinion... but nobody ever listened to him.
Anyway. Point is, the three of them were walking down the sandbar. Getting rather boring, actually, but then Jack had never really had what anybody would consider a good attention span.
Finally they stopped a few metres away from the other three.
There was some talking that Jack wasn't particularly interested in. After all, Davy Jones was standing right there, practically slavering for his soul... which Jack happened to like right where it was.
He was brought back to the situation at hand by Beckett telling Lizzie and Hector, "He was merely a tool in this scheme. If you wish to see its grand designer, look to your left."
They both looked at him. He feigned innocence, looking over to his left, then turning back to Beckett and saying loudly, "There's nobody there, mate."
He stage-whispered to his companions, "Think he needs his eyes checked."
Elizabeth rolled her eyes and said loftily to their opponents, "I propose a trade."
Beckett simply raised an eyebrow.
"Jack, for Will," Elizabeth said with a small smile.
"Done," Beckett and Will agreed.
"Not done!" Jack contradicted.
"Jack is one of the Nine Pirate Lords," Barbossa hissed to Lizzie. "You can't trade him off!"
Lizzie looked at him and said simply, "King."
Jack was paying very close attention to this particular exchange, and so saw her eyes flick to the monkey for a split second.
What? Jack wondered.
Barbossa grumbled for a moment before backing down.
"All right, are we all in agreement then?" Lizzie asked Beckett.
Beckett nodded, all five ignoring Jack's protests. Will walked over to their side, but when Jack took a step forward, Lizzie stopped him, staring at Beckett triumphantly.
With her other arm, Lizzie reached for Barbossa's shoulder, grabbing the monkey and dropping him into Beckett's arms.
"Run!" Lizzie yelled. The four of them turned tail and ran down the beach.
"What on earth was that?" Will exclaimed as they reached the other end.
Lizzie stopped laughing long enough to explain, "The monkey's name is Jack!"
