Kairi came to school that day to find two notes in her locker. She opened the first.

I never do this sort of thing, so here goes.

Dear Kairi,

I miss you.

Remember when we used play together when we were little?

I loved that.

We used to pretend that I was the king and you were the queen of our make-believe kingdom.

It was fun.

Well maybe this is too late, but I'm saying it.

I love you.

I know we tried this before and it didn't work.

But are you willing to try again?

Because I am.

I'll say it again.

I love you.

I may not have fully been what you wanted, but I'm willing to be it now.

So how about it?

Will you go out with me?

(Again?)

This was the first of two letters Kairi had received that day. The second was this...

Dear Kairi,

Hey.

I know I haven't been around for you all that much lately, but that's because I've been nervous and afraid to come out and say this.

I like you.

A lot.

Ever since we were kids.

Ever since it was the three of us together.

You were always the one that I liked.

The one that I loved.

I was hoping that maybe you liked me too?

Anyways, even though this note was short, I love you Kairi.

Do you like me too?

I'll always love you.

While both notes were nostalgic and heartfelt, the truth was that Kairi had her sights set on someone else. He was perfect. And he was exactly her age. And that person was Demyx Bass.

Maybe she had feelings for Sora at some point, but Riku was always just a friend to her. She didn't want to hurt them, but she knew deep down that they both just wanted her to be happy.

In fact, both of their letters had inspired Kairi to confess her feelings to Demyx. She wrote her note and taped it to Demyx's locker. Demyx walked up to his locker after Kairi had left.

Dear Demyx,

Hi.

I've been thinking a lot and I've been wanting to do this for some time now.

I've likes you for about a year and a half now, but I've never had the guts to actually tell you about it.

So here's my confession.

I like you.

I know normally the guy does the asking, but I'm not going for a traditional approach...

Again, let me ask.

Will you go out with me?

But would you be willing to go out with me?

Not long after, Demyx walked up to Kairi and kissed her.

"So that's a yes?"
