Empty Pages
Written by: Marlena E. Hill
These empty pages
That fills an empty journal,
Feel lonely knowing that
No one will write on them.
These pages want
To be used for a purpose,
To be used for nothing
Would be meaning to burn the pages.
Taken for granted
These empty pages fill themselves,
With thoughts of regret and doubt
And fear and sorrow.
Knowing nothing
Of what the ink knows
The pages draw out
Their lonesomeness.
To be empty is
All the pages know and always will know,
Till the day
When the hearth is lit.
