It was hard to explain. She just saw him walk through the door and knew. And it truly was stupendous. No, scratch that. It was exciting exhilarating electrifying and many other words ending with 'ing'. It was the top grade in your class, hearing your favourite song on the radio, the first sunny day after a month of rain. It was even better than chocolate.
And then they broke apart, and she became aware of her surroundings, and her cheeks started to flush, but he smiled at her and pulled her towards the portrait hole and she didn't really care.
