Calling Home.

"Be careful, Harry. You know what those two are capable of."

"If all goes well, it'll be a swift in and out with no time for them to notice me." said Harry, "I'll call you when it's over. I'll describe the royal lavulite to you as I sit admiring them."

"Don't get cocky. A lot could go wrong. What do you know about the security?"

"A detective agency. Good reputation."

"That's unfortunate."

"Steele is good, I'm better."

Daniel sighed. "Harry, think with your brain, not with your ego. I think you're rushing this."

"Rushing it? I've followed the damn things halfway around the world!"

"And now you find them guarded by a top detective and this seems like a good time to grab them?"

"Why not? Do you think I've met my match, this time?" Harry laughed. "Have faith in me, Daniel! Steele will find me somewhat elusive. With luck, he'll never even know I exist. He'll think I'm Ben Pearson."

"How many exit strategies do you have?"

"Four."

"Five would be better."

"Or twelve, eh, Daniel? You fuss like an old woman sometimes."

"I didn't invest all that time and effort in you for the pleasure of seeing you wind up in some jail."

"Three days, tops, then I'll fly to London and show you the gems and we can drink a toast to Steele and his reputation."

"Just make sure you don't end up enhancing it. Catching you could be his biggest success."

"It would take more than some LA gumshoe to snare me." said Harry.

"I have a lot of misgivings about this." said Daniel.

"Only because you're not here with me. You always worry too much when you can't influence things."

"True." said Daniel, "But you're playing for some high stakes. One slip now and your life changes forever."

"I won't fall now, Daniel." said Harry, "I know exactly what I'm doing."

"Very well, I'll have faith. Call me before you fly over. Give me time to warm up a blonde and chill some champagne for you."

"It'll be good to get back. I miss London."

"London? London misses you too, Harry." said Daniel.

The End.
