A/N: I'm working on a multi-chapter piece right now, my usual Morgan/Reid, but I had this little fluff bunny on my mind for some reason so I'm going to dare to deviate from my usual. Hope you enjoy!
Reid returned from the men's room with his tie removed, vest gone, and his top two buttons on his shirt popped. His hair looked rearranged and was now purposefully messy. "My man!" exclaimed Morgan from his perch on the corner of Prentiss' desk. "You look like you have a date tonight!"
"Um, that's because I do have a date tonight," he replied, purposefully not making eye contact as he placed his vest and tie in his bag.
"Who with?"
"My girlfriend." The sooner she showed up the better in Reid's opinion.
"Whoa! You made this girl your girlfriend without getting your best friend's approval? I don't know anything about her." The whole team knew Morgan got far too much joy from teasing Reid about his personal life, or more commonly, his lack thereof.
"You know her."
Morgan's eyes were wide with surprise and he and he immediately looked at Prentiss, the only single female on their team.
"Don't look at me!" she exclaimed holding her hands up in a sign of innocence. "Wrong hair color," she added, referring to Reid's penchant for blondes.
"Austin wasn't a blonde," Morgan stated, referring to the flirtatious bartender that Reid won over with magic tricks.
"Okay so of the women we know of, it's 3:1," Prentiss countered.
"JJ . . . Lila . . . who's the third?"
". . ."
"Ashley is a blonde," Reid stated, finally speaking up.
"Ashley who?"
"Seaver!" Prentiss exclaimed in exasperation.
"Oh-ho! Dating Seaver! How long after she transferred did you ask her out? Does Rossi know? Cause I'm pretty sure that if you break her heart, he'll break you."
"IIIIIIIII asked him out as soon as I put in the papers to transfer," Ashley answered, walking into the bullpen and giving the eternally awkward Reid a kiss on the cheek as she took his hand on her own. "And Dave does know. If you don't think he couldn't spot my crush on Spencer from a mile away, you're kidding yourself."
"And you could read Reid that well?"
"No. Garcia told me that Reid found me distracting – in a good way." She turned to face a blushing Reid. "Is Dave still in Spence?"
"He should be, yeah."
"Mind if I say hi real quick before we go?"
"Of course not, take your time." This time Ashley disregarded Reid's shyness and gave him a chaste kiss on the mouth. "Nice to see you guys," she said to Emily and Morgan as she waved, walking up the ramp to Rossi's office.
"Reid – I've seen you in action; you have no game! How in the world are you always scoring these hotties?"
"Um, I think they find my lack of 'game' endearing."
Prentiss hummed in agreement.
"Isn't she a little young though? She probably still gets carded when she goes out."
"Morgan, I think you forget how young I was when I started here, much younger than Ashley. Out of all the teammates I've ever had, she's the closest to my age."
"Hunh."
"Well," Reid said as he rocked back on his heels, "I'm going to go see about Ashley." He gave them his signature wave and headed toward Rossi's office.
"Did you know?" he asked Prentiss.
"Yup. I could see it before I left. Makes sense. Reid does have a thing for blondes, even if he won't admit it. And, well, it's easy to see why she's attracted to him."
"You ever have some less than platonic thoughts about our good doctor?" Morgan teased.
"Like I said, wrong hair color. And I don't date co-workers."
"Fair enough. Wanna go have a 'friendly beer' Prentiss?"
"Yes please."
