" oh god.. " kagome whispered in shock, her hands rising to her slightly open mouth, as if ready to scream. she would have screamed too, if she hadn't heard her name being whispered from somewhere behind her.
" ka...gome.. "
spinning around, the sight that met kagome's eyes made all of the blood completely drain away from her face. there, crawling towards her, was inuyasha - 4 arrows were embedded into his skin. kagome, who was too horrified to say anything, fell to her knees in a sobbing mess. she then looked up through teary smoky blue eyes to find inuyasha finally reach her, and he collapsed - resting his head on her lap.
" don't cry... kagome.. " he whispered, reaching up a shaking, bloody hand to her cheek to wipe away the freshly fallen tears. kagome, on the other hand, simply couldn't stop. looking up and down his mangled body, she saw the 4 arrows. one in his stomach, one on the right side of his chest, and one in each of his shoulders.
" who -- who could have done this..?" it was then that kagome heard the twang of string being pulled back, and looked up.
there, to her horror, was kikyou, a rather emotionless expression plastered on her visage. " kikyou ... why? " was all kagome could say. she looked up into kikyous emotionless eyes, and saw something that she never saw before -- pure joy.
" w... what? "
it was then that kikyou aimed her arrow at kagome's head - and let go of the string.
