Okay, here's a one-shot
Martin/Rose. Martin's POV. Of course, last time I attempted
a one-shot it ended up being three chapters...
It's hard…I'm not sure how I'll go on without you, my love. Ever since the battle, ever since I saw you lying so still on the ground, my heart has been sick with grief. And what's worse…I never told you what I felt inside.
I've loved you, my darling, ever since I laid eyes on you. You've saved my life several times, yet I was not there to save yours. When I promised your mother I would protect you, that promise was just as much to myself. I failed.
Your father was right when he said that I was a warrior and death walked alongside me. My quest to defeat the Tyrant has cost me everything I lived for. It cost me friends, and it cost me you. I love you, Laterose of Noonvale.
Someday we shall be reunited, but for now I must follow my path as a warrior. I shall perhaps never find peace or a true home while I live, but I can take comfort in the fact I will always have a true love, even if you are not with me. Wherever I go, I will fight all evil in your memory, my Rose. And wherever I go I will hear your beautiful voice, remember your beautiful face.
