As the population grew the need for switchers was high, because of their biology switchers are highly valuable as breeders, they can get pregnant very easily in either form. Switchers are most fertile during heat - a period of around 1-2 weeks every 3 months where every emotion is amplified.
A person knows that they are a switcher on their 3rd birthday when they switch for the first time. Switchers are rumored to have strange powers that they use to protect themselves but none of them have been proven.
Switchers are very easy to identify if they are a minor, as they are forced to wear identifying collars and if they are an adult then they only have to carry a card that identifies them as a switcher.
There is a lot of prejudice against switchers from people who have old ways of thinking and think that switchers are only good for sex and taking care of children. However that is outdated and is a foolish many switchers are perfectly independent and are allowed to do anything that others can thanks to new laws, but there are still those who discriminate against switchers.
