AN: drabble! hope the layout makes it a bit easier to read. originally it was going to be a poem, but that didn't really work out. anyway, it's about my favorite non-canon ship, alec and isabelle. so AU.

the door opens. he steps in.

smalltalk. weather, neighbors. fine, everything is fine.

she laughs, he smiles.

and all of a sudden it's hands in hair and heavy breathing and there's nothing,

nothing but him, nothing but her and then it's just

nothing.

because it's wrong,

all wrong, so wrong,

and she cries when he leaves

and when he gets to the car and opens the door his head hits the steering wheel and

it stays like that for hours, years

his whole life, his soul, seeping out of him without her

and back at home she feels her soul slipping away, watches it disappear out the window,

following him,

because without him there's nothing,

there's nothing, there's nothing.

and not for the first time she wonders what she did to anger God so, to make Him create

her soulmate and then as send him to earth as her

brother.

AN: look down. what is that green thing at the bottom of the page again? oh yeah, the review button. it's getting a little dusty. you should prolly do something about that.
