Fluffiness. I don't own Torchwood or its characters, though technically none are mentioned in this tiny little paragraph.

Today I looked up a word in my dictionary. I'm not sure why, perhaps I've been dwelling on the word a bit more than usual lately. I'm not sure that it belongs in the dictionary, as no words can give it the meaning it deserves. A few short descriptive phrases cannot possibly describe this word, yet apparently those mysterious people who take the time to write dictionaries attempted it. I'd like to think that when they got to this word, they paused, not sure what to write. I could certainly never attempt to describe it. Books and books have been written about this word, but still, after all that, no one can do it justice. Still, the mysterious Mr. Webster has attempted to describe it in eight words: a profoundly tender, passionate affection for another person. While I do not believe that anything as deeply rooted in human nature as this word is can possibly be described perfectly, I must give credit where credit is due. For eight simple words, it is a brilliant description of perhaps one of the most hard-to-describe words in the English language. Love.

A/N: Confession, I wrote this for my fiance's birthday. He's currently deployed, so words are all I can give him. BUT I have to admit it was inspired by my Torchwood musings. I'll leave speculation as to whose thoughts these are up to the readers. Please review!
