Land of the Lares
When they look at her, they don't see the brokenness. The pain. The torture in her eyes. They don't see that she doesn't like the way she lives. They don't see her. The others-no-the lares. She mentally changes. She won't put herself down to that level. Because she is better than them.
{but not really}
Because she is more alive than they are.
[totally untrue]
Because she knows deep down that they are better, they are more alive, they are.
(ding+ding+ding; we have a winner)
She can tell that the others,
∂the demigods~the Romans∂
don't remember who she is except the Praetor that fell for two of hers. The one who warmed up to the Greeks, only to declare war. The one who committed 'suicide' when really the Augur ordered an assassin to kill her. She just floats around aimlessly, wishing for a chance out. A way out.
She visits them occasionally. Percy, he was distraught over her death. But Piper, who could've, would've, become a great friend, comforted him. Jason, he took all his sadness and anger out in training, only stopping when he hurt both Piper and Annabeth in training. Octavian, he leads Camp Jupiter now with two other Praetors. They keep him in line.
She remembers them coming to her funeral. Circe, Hylla, The Seven Chosen Ones. She remembers Octavian coming and standing over her dead, lifeless, body and grinning like a madman. She remembers Percy and Hylla beating him up for shouting that her death was wonderful...happy.
She remembers going down to the Underworld only to have Lord Pluto kick her back to the world of the living. She remembers having the other Lares-no! wait, yes.
\because she's resigned herself to the fact she's dead/
She remembers the other Lares turning up their noses and floating away from her. She remembers going back to the Praetorian temples and finding Octavian, Percy, and Piper. She saw them. In her bedchambers. On her bed. She floated away as fast as she could.
She remembers falling for another dead praetor. His name was Troy. Brown hair. Green eyes. A son of Ceres. With him, she remembered being human.
{alive-living-breathing}
But he, like everything that's good and happy for her, was taken away.
/-off-gone-forever-\
She was torn apart. But that's to be expected of a Lare. Always facing disappointment. Sadness. Misery. No love for her once she died, once she was no longer useful, she was forgotten. Cast out to the Land of the Lares.
She seeks revenge. It was like Percy destroyed her home all over again. She's rallying the Lares to her side and she will strike. Like the snakes on Lord Mercury's caduceus. Fast and deadly. She will strike.
A/N: Does Reyna mind you of anyone? Like a blond child of Hermes perhaps? I hope at the end she does. That's what I was aiming for. Review!
