Do You Trust Me?
It was late when Leo and Carter got back to Terra Venture on Mirinoi and they were both extremely tired. So they bid each other goodnight and went their separate ways. Upon entering his and Kendrix's living quarters Carter was about half way across the room. When a light came on and Carter saw his girlfriend Kendrix sitting there; and she didn't look at all pleased. "Hey Kendrix what are you doing up?" Carter asked sheepishly."So you thought I wouldn't find out umm..?" Kendrix said looking at Carter. Carter said nothing except to look at the floor. Kendrix got up and came over to where Carter was standing and asked the question once again "so you thought I wouldn't find out?" When Carter still didn't say anything Kendrix sighed and turned her back to Carter and said "I get it now you don't trust me." This caused Carter's head to snap up as he wrapped his arms around Kendrix's waist and brought her closer to his chest. "Of course I trust you Kendrix why wouldn't I….." Carter never got to finish that sentence. Before Kendrix turned around and looked at Carter with sadness in her eyes.
"Well tell me why already that you wouldn't tell me!? Answer me already Carter!" Kendrix almost shouted as tears came down her face. "Oh Kendrix please don't cry you know I hate it when you cry. I didn't want to worry you that's all" Carter said into her ear; as he pulled her closer to his chest. "Worry me you didn't want to worry me!" "So being gone for an entire day wouldn't worry me" Kendrix said looking at Carter with a tear stained face. Kendrix didn't give Carter anytime to answer "I wake up your gone you leave no note telling me where you're going. Then you suddenly come back and expect me to be find with it and act like nothing happened."
"You could've been killed and then what was I supposed to say and do?"Sighing Carter said "You have every right to be mad at me Kendrix every right." "But that doesn't explain as to why you didn't tell me what was going on; instead of worrying me Carter" Kendrix said her voice muffled by Carter's chest. Sighing once again Carter said "All I can say is that I didn't have time to tell plus I didn't know a lot about what was going on." Kendrix just lifted her head of Carter's chest and looked him in the eyes with an eyebrow raised. "Really I didn't know what was going on and I promise it won't happen again. Plus if it happens again you'll be the first to know" Carter said.
After taking it all in Kendrix decided that her boyfriend was telling the truth; "Promise?" Kendrix said just to be sure. "I promise cross my heart and hoped to die" Carter said he watched Kendrix growl and then slapped his chest and tell him "don't say that around me you know how I already feel about that!" "I know but you do know that one day I'll never be around?" "Yeah I know but can we please not talk about this right now" Kendrix asked as she wrapped her arms around Carter's waist and once again placed her head on her chest once again. After a few more moments of silence Carter suggested that they go to bed. Kendrix said nothing but followed Carter anyway because she knew in a couple of moments; she'd be cuddling right up to him just to assure herself that he was there.
