Thump,thump,thump. My heart was pounding, and I couldn't breathe, finally I slowed my pace.

'I'm not going to fall here,I can't!'

My vision was blurry as I jogged through the forest.

'Why me? What did I do wrong? What did he do wrong?'

These questions didn't have anwsers. I wanted them. The next thought cause me to stop.

'It's your fault. It's all your fault that your father's dead,your mother's crying, and your brother's gone.'

"No!"

I said outloud as I dropped into the soft grass. I heard heavy footstep.

'Move. Come on,they'll find you.'

Instead of doing what I knew I should do, I closed my eyes, and lay still.

'Go away.'

I thought. Someone hit my face, but still I didn't move.

"Let's leave him, he looks dead. And we've got Hope."

The voice was deep, and I wa shocked.

'They know who we are?Does that mean the others are in trouble too?'

I opened my eyes as the footsteps turned away. I watched the people leave. The grass behind me russeled, and I assumed it was an animal.

"Are you okay? Why were those scary guys after you?"

The voice made me roll over, and I came face to face with a boy my age, with tanned skin and big brown eyes. I said nothing to the boy as I studied his wild brown hair.

"I'm Taichi!You can call me Tai though!"

He said.

"I'm..Yamato.."

I said. Tai smiled at me. I was confused.

"You wanna come to my house?"

"Won't your parents get mad?Because you don't know me or anything.."

"Oh,come on."

Tai said, pulling me up by the arm. I followed the boy along a path hidden by trees. As we got to the little are the boy lived in, I starred, this area was amazing. And I never knew about it before now. We walked through the crowded area everyone was waving and smiling at us. Tai waved to everyone, with a big smile on his face. Finally, he opened the door to a house.

"Mama, I'm home! I've brought a friend too, scary guys were after him!"

Tai shouted these words up the stairs, and there were hurried footsteps, I drew in a deep breath.Tai's mom came down the stairs

"Hi there.."

She said, giving me a look.I smiled at her, not that I really wanted to smile.

"Come on, let's go to my room!"

Tai said, leading me up to his bedroom.As we walked up the stairs, I noticed a mirror...My blond hair was messy and my blue eyes..didn't look like my own.
