Okay so this is a short poem I wrote a while ago and now I finally have the spine to put it on here. So without further ado, here's my poem!
I know you have demons, monsters and nightmares
Ones not found in dreams, but the atmosphere
I know you want nothing more than to run and hide
That you need nothing else but to stay inside
I know you wonder if you're a waste of time
But you're not a waste, your life's not a crime
I know you shut your eyes, and prepare for the worst
Expecting to be abandoned, on your own, divorced
I know you think your broken, shattered and invisible
That you look in the mirror and decide your unfixable
I know you believe your scattered, falling apart
Think that nothing can save your weary heart
I know you think your pathetic, unworthy and unloved
But I can prove you wrong if you just look above
I know your lost and can't find your way
That you only see in colours of black and grey
I know your confused, can't tell up from down
And you go on with a heavy heart and your smile a frown
I know you want to turn you exhausting existence into a myth
I know you just want everything to be over and done with
I know I know, you want to end yourself
I know I know... but I'm here to help
If you need someone to lean on, I'm all yours
If you need someone to dock, I'll be your anchor
If your all locked up, I'll unlock your chains
If it starts to pour, you can have my umbrella to get out of the rain
So when you're drowning in the water, flailing about
You can grab my hand... I'm reaching out
Well? What do you think? It's kinda representing how God is always here for us and is always ready to take our burdens. You can interpret it however you want, but that's my version of it. Feel free to tell me what you think or any criticism you might have. I appreciate any and all ideas.
