Yes, I actually own CSI. Grissom is MINE so no touching!!!

As he reached for the complete works of Shakespeare that sat on his nightstand his hand paused. There was a letter resting on top of it. The letter he'd written to Sara. The letter where he'd poured his soul out. The letter he'd never sent. The letter he couldn't send. She had found it. She had read it. She knew. This was BAD.

Grissom stood there, frozen to the spot, his mind racing over and through and around what had happened, his heart beat pounding in his chest, his hand began to shake.

Sara walked into the bedroom to see him standing there, staring at the letter. THE letter. The sweetest, most incredible thing she'd ever read. A smile started to spread over her face.

"Hi," she said softly.

"Sara," he gasped, turning to face her. "You… you've read this?" He asked, waving the letter listlessly as his heart dropped to his stomach.

"Yeah. I found it in the book. Gil… it was…" Wonderful, beautiful.

"I'm so sorry Sara." Gil blurted out.

Sorry? Her stomach tied into knots at that while her mouth went dry. Why would he be sorry? Is he sorry that I know? What if he doesn't feel that way anymore? OH GOD!

"You're Sorry? Wha -why are you sorry?" She asked, trying to be brave while her heart beat hard and fast against her chest.

"I… You…I," he stuttered, unable to form a sentence. "I didn't want to do it this way, this wasn't supposed to happen," he muttered to himself, and then louder, "It wasn't supposed to happen this way. You weren't supposed to find this."

Oh God! He's going to break up with me.

Finally getting a good look at Sara and the fear in her eyes he put his amazing deductive powers to good use for once and realized what Sara was thinking. Slowly, he took a deep breath and began again. "You. You deserve to hear this in person." He said as he gestured with the letter. At his words Sara began to calm down.

He meant it. He ACTUALLY meant it!

"I… I left and, well, I needed that time to clear my head but, I missed you. My God, Sara, I missed you so much." He said as he stepped towards her, dropping the letter as he reached for her. "I never expected to miss you that much. All of a sudden, I realized that I couldn't breathe without you." He stopped and looked into her eyes. "I wrote that letter to tell you everything that I'd figured out but… it wasn't right. I was addressing it and I realized that I was taking the easy way out. Telling you in a letter would have been easy and you deserve more. I put the letter away. I decided to tell you when I got home but then, the time was never right. I've been trying to find the perfect moment for months now. God, Sara. I'm so sorry I didn't do this better." He said as he dropped his forehead to hers.

"This was perfect. I know you Gil. I know that you love me. I know that, Baby. This was perfect. The letter was beautiful. I don't need the perfect moment. I just need you," the last was whispered against his lips as she slowly pressed her mouth against his in a kiss that they both felt down to their feet, where the letter lay, forgotten in the reality of the emotion.
