Punished by God
A young boy tapped his white ended walking stick on the street as he crossed the road. He was clutching an easter egg in one hand.
"Stop" A woman called. The boy stopped just outside his house and stood
there. A firm hand spun him round and stopped him.
"You people disgust me" The woman growled. The boy was confused by
this and took a step back.
"Wh-why do I disgust you?" Was all he could say in his shock. The woman
glared at him and snarled.
"You people who, although you are the enemy's of God celebrating his
son's festival!" The woman pushed the boy into the wall who wiped a tear
from his eye.
"Why would I be God's enemy?" The boy asked. The woman gave a snarl
to him which was of course unseen by the blind boy.
"You did something terrible and God punished you by taking your sight
and yet you still celebrate Easter" The woman screeched and snatched the
easter egg out of the boy's arms and threw it into the street. The boy
sobbed and wailed as the woman shouted abuse at him.
"What do you think you are doing?" A man with a short beard asked, he
had a young woman next to him and they were scowling at the abusive woman.
"Teaching this young punk a lesson" The abusive woman snarled at them
giving the boy a soft kick. The young woman stepped up to the older, abusive
woman and stared straight at her.
"Who are you to say who God hates and who he loves, I personally think
that he loves everyone, blind, death, dum, homosexual, hetorosexual, black,
white, woman or man or anything else. Who is really terrible, except those
who hurt and abuse others?" The abusive woman stared down at the younger
woman and slapped her. She gave the boy one last soft kick and walked off.
The man leaned down to help the boy up.
"Are you OK?" He asked with a smile. The boy sobbed slightly.
"She took the egg I was going to give to my mother" He wailed. The
man calmed him down quickly by handing him a crisp ten-pound note.
"There go and buy another egg for your mother with this" The boy wiped
his eyes and thanked the two and ran off.
The younger woman turned to the man and smiled and they walked off down the street.
