"Yami?"

"Yes hikari…"

"I love you…"

Yami smiled, gripping Yugi's hand tighter. The other snuggled close to him, burying his face in the once strong chest. Old age had weakened him, but Yami's mind was still as strong as ever. He could feel death coming for him, and he knew, somewhere in his heart, that he would die before his precious light.

And that killed him.

He closed his eyes, leaning his head against Yugi's as they sat in the warm sun. Yugi shivered despite the warmth, rubbing his cheek against Yami's chest. "Yami, I'm scared."

"Of what, love?" Yami asked softly, squeezing the other's hand gently.

"Death. Will we still be together? I'm so afraid that they will take you from me." Yugi said shakily, his voice carrying a hint of tears.

Yami smiled, pressing a kiss against the gray hair. "No… We are one, you and I. Light and Dark, we are meant to always be together, and together we shall be. Do not fear, for Death is only a new beginning." The spirit smiled. "Perhaps they will let us return to my homeland, and you can live with me as royalty."

Yugi looked up, his violet eyes shining. "Royalty? Me?"

Yami nodded. "A Prince of Egypt. You would rule by my side in the afterlife."

"Will they still accept you?" Yugi asked worriedly. "Even after you refused to come with them at the Ceremonial Duel?"

"I am their Pharaoh." Yami responded. "My father said that they would wait another thousand years if necessary." The spirit sighed, closing his eyes. "But they won't have to wait much longer…"

Yugi blinked. "W-What? What do you mean?"

"I have little time, Yugi… We have little time… I can feel it…" Yami's voice was growing softer, and Yugi realized that his hand was beginning to loosen. "Death…is coming… for us…"

"Yami." Yugi demanded. "Yami, open your eyes. Look at me!"

Tired cerise eyes fluttered open, and Yugi was horrified and dismayed to see the blankness of those orbs. Yami smiled gently. "Don't worry… I'll wait… for you…"

Tears flooded down the other's face, his hand clenching around Yami's. "Don't leave me… Don't leave me first… Please… I don't want to be alone…"

A gentle smile came to Yami's face, his eyelids beginning to close. "I'll be waiting… my… love…"

His eyes closed, and his body fell limp. Yugi sobbed slightly as he felt the rise and fall of his chest still, and Yami's head fell back onto the seat. Yugi held him close, sobbing against the gray hair. "Yami… Yami…"

A warmth surrounded him, and Yugi looked up in shock. He could see nothing, but he could feel Yami's spirit there, surrounding him. He smiled. "Yami… You're still here, aren't you…"

The man laid his head against Yami's chest, carefully pulling the limp arms around his body. He would leave this world in Yami's arms…

He closed his eyes, and then felt Yami's spirit surround him, pulling at him with a beckoning hand. Yugi smiled, and gave himself to his dark half.

"Will you follow me? No matter what?"

Yugi smiled. "Always……"

I'm still not particularly happy with this, but a friend of mine says I should post it, so here it is! It's not my best work, but I tried! Please review!
