My dear Katniss
I love you, Katniss. I have since the day I met you. My love for you is a passionate fire that will never flicker out, not even when we die. The moment my gaze met yours and I stared into your beautiful gray eyes, I never wanted to look away. Since then I've longed to kiss you, to let you know how I feel. But every time I told myself to let these unspoken thoughts out, panic fills my mind and I fear your reaction. The overwhelming desire to wrap my arms around you and never let go, to kiss you forever, to make my fantasy love for you reality controls my thoughts. Once you cross my mind, Katniss, you never leave it. You complete me. You're my other half.
Every day I force my unspoken words down my throat. I fear that if I announce my love for you, everything will change. I never want our friendship to end. I allow myself to just enjoy every second I spend with you, even knowing that you will never return my feelings. For now, your friendship is enough for me. But I know that someday only your love for me can satisfy my heart. Images of you fill my dreams. My mother tells me I whisper your name in my sleep.
When my heart stops beating, my last thoughts and words will be of you. I never want to let you go. You are the greatest thing that has ever happened to me. I would sacrifice my life for yours even if it meant a slow, painful death. Katniss, as long as I'm with you, I'm happy. Please, never leave me. Never leave my side. I swear I will stay by your side through the worst weather, the pouring rain, the darkest nights. I will always be here to comfort you. I am anything you want me to be. My love for you is eternal.
Gale
A/N: Awweh... yay for Galeniss :D Um, well, explanation: Gale wrote this letter to Katniss [this is before The Hunger Games], obviously, but he never intended for her to find them. After Mockingjay, but before the epilogue, Katniss comes across an envelope addressed to "Katniss Everdeen" and notices it's from Gale. Even though it was before the epilogue, it's still, like, fifteen years after the letter was written. Please review(:
