Tarot of the Week

Author's Note: This used to be a chapter-fic, Tarot of the Week, but I decided to separate them since they are not related and are from different categories.

When I saw the imagery of the Six of Cups, the first thing that came to mind is "nostalgia" and the second thing is "looking to the past and walking towards the future". I had several ideas for this one, including several Naruto characters, post-Conan scenario from Detective Conan, pre-canon Gabriel from Supernatural, and ASL from One Piece. Eventually, I decided on the Straw Hat Pirates since I hadn't written a piece about them in a while.

By the way, if you request it, I don't mind considering writing another piece for the card drawn for the week. Tarot of the Week's premises is one card per week, but not necessarily one fanfic per card. But, if you do want to request something, make sure to tie it back to your interpretation of the chosen card and tell me which deck you chose to base your interpretations on. You don't need to give me a whole paragraph, just a sentence of two. Of course, I can't guarantee I'll write it, especially if it's from an anime / cartoon / TV show / movie / book I've never heard of before.

Week 5: Six of Cups (One Piece)

Once upon a time, there is…

… a lonely but optimistic dreamer

… a stubborn rival

… a jubilant thief

… a mama's boy

… a weak assassin

… a rejected reindeer

… a joyous archeologist-to-be

… a genius shipwright-to-be

… an ecstatic musician

Then…

… he gains a goal, a solemn promise, two brilliant brothers who carries baggage of their own, and the exhilarating days he would never forget

… he loses a rival to an unfortunate accident and adopts her dream as his own

… she loses her mother to an enemy she is forced to serve and works tirelessly for years to buy her village back

… he falls back on lies and tall-tales to fend of loneliness and make friends

… he escapes and willingly chains himself to a great man to whom he had stolen his dream from

… he becomes rejected even more but finds two precious people who takes him under their wings

… she loses her home to the darkness of the world and is hunted down since

… he loses his beloved mentor and half of his body, but eventually adopts a family whom he protects with his new body of steel

… he loses all of his precious friends, his body, and even his shadow, forcing him to live in a dark fog all alone for years to come

But, somewhere down the line…

… a perpetually grinning teenager barges into their lives with all the force of a natural disaster, uprooting their life and giving them new hope

… he finds a dreamer with even bigger dreams than his own and they find other dreamers to join their own

… she makes friends with the people she tried to con and the waves the pebble makes ripples into a tsunami that sweeps away her enemies and her nightmares, bringing her a new lease on life

… he still lies and tell tall-tales, but he now has the opportunity to turn those lies into truths

… he meets a stubborn teen who breaks his figurative chains and releases his stifled dream

… he who was rejected by many becomes accepted by a boisterous group which he never regrets meeting

… she finds precious people who she loves and who are more than willing to stand up against the world and its darkness for her

… he builds a grand ship in place of another grand ship that had been lost saving its crew and joins them on a journey of a lifetime

… he meets people who returns his shadow, releases him from his solitude, and gives him sunshine and cheer

Together, they go on numerous adventures and sail towards their dreams.
