I fell to the ground from a fist to his stomach.
He clenched his chest looking up at Grayson who had just punched him, then across at Emery who fell to the ground next to him looking at him with sorrowful eyes.
"Are you okay?" she said placing her hand over his.
"Yeah I'm fine!" I said feeling the warmth of her hand.
I slowly stood up with her help and then walked towards Grayson who was smiling liked he'd actually accomplished something.
"I see your dating something worse than one of your own." He said referring to Emery.
With one swift movement I clenched my fist and hit him straight on the jaw to which he fell to the ground and started whimpering.
Emery escorted me to the bathroom where she lifted up my shirt to look at the swelling of what seemed like the biggest bruise ever.
"I'm sorry you had to see that!" I said looking into her eyes.
"It's fine," she said applying some cold water, "he deserved it!"
I smiled a little watching her hold a wet cloth on my stomach.
"Your different, not like the other humans." I said with a smile.
"I hope that's not a bad thing." She said as she pulled my shirt back down.
"It's a great thing. You have a vision, a sense of acceptance, it's a great quality to have Emery." I said still gazing into her eyes.
She smiled looking down at her feet then looked up into my eyes.
"Are you going to the homecoming carnival later?" She said with a glint of hope in her eyes.
"I wasn't planning on it, but I think I might for a little while."
"You should, I'll even save you a seat on the Ferris wheel." She said smiling then looked at her watch, "I have to go but hopefully I'll see you later.
I sat there and just smiled.
