The old gods are dead. When each of them died though their powers passed onto the child born as they died. This is the story of a hero named Percy Jackson aka Tempest and his adventures. What will our hero do with his powers and how will he effect the world? Will he reach his destiny as the greatest of Heroes? I do not own Percy Jackson or the name Tempest.

A Hero Is Born

As a general rule gods do not die, but as with all others even this rule was made to be broken.

Not many people can claim that they were born at the same second a god died. When a god dies their power is transferred to the person who was born the second they die.

August 18 1993

The last of the old gods died on this day at the moment of 10:31 AM Poseidon's last breath exhaled as a young boy first breathed in. The Last three gods had been Pan, Athena and Poseidon dying in that order within three months. Pan died first his essence going into a boy by the name of Grover Underwood. Athena died on the day of July 12th her energy going into a girl by the name of Annabeth Chase. And when Poseidon perished his powers went into a young Man by the name of Percy Jackson.

Ten Years Later

Percy Jackson is now ten years old. To most he seems like an average kid, but there is more to him. The essence of Poseidon runs through him, waiting for the right time to activate his powers. But for now fate seems to be in the midst of creating the greatest hero or the darkest villain.

Percy's stepfather Gabe Ugliano was in the midst of beating him. Apparently the man lost a poker game with some people and ended up losing 800 dollars. He decided to take out his anger on his five year old stepson. Percy took the beating with all the words shouting out at him that he was a useless bastard, and unfit to be human, a waste. He didn't cry but he did go numb. This wasn't the first time this had happened to him and he knew it wasn't going to be the last.

The beating lasted hours. By the time it ended Percy was laying on the ground bloodied and bruised. In that moment his eyes glowed green and he vowed, "I won't let this happen to anyone else." And with that he fell unconscious.
