As Dom galloped through the gates of New Hope he looked around frantically for Kel. Neal rode up to him and led him over to the infirmary. There she lay asleep, pale, and sick. He took her hand and looked up to his cousin. Neal grimaced and said,
"She'll
be fine. She's just a bit weak after the fight."
Dom frowned
and asked, "You're sure? She'll be okay? She just looks so
weak."
Neal smiled and replied, "She'll be fine! Although I'm sure she'll be interested in the fact that you care so much."
Dom blushed and ducked his head before mumbling, "She's my friend. I couldn't let anything happen to her."
Neal let out an aspirated sigh and said, "Why don't you tell her how you feel? I'm sure she'll be happy."
"But what if she isn't? What if she doesn't love me back?"
"Trust me, she does."
Neal turned and strode out of the infirmary muttering to himself, "I better be the best man."
Dom looked at Kel one last time before swiftly kissing her on the lips. She stirred softly and he jumped backwards and walked quickly out of the room.
Opening he eyes Kel couldn't help but wish that the dream she had had of the conversation between her best friend and his cousin was real.

Kel turned around weakly; her glaive pattern was slower and more sluggish than usual. Neal watched as her knees trembled and he ran out and steadied her and said,
"You woke up yesterday! You're too weak to be doing this."
Kel smiled and a thought came in to her mind. As Neal helped her up the stairs she asked him, "Just before I woke up, were you in my room with Dom?"
Neal looked surprised. He shrugged and said, "Yes, how did you know?"
Kel's insides did back flips and just mumbled, "I guessed."
Neal laid her on her bed and said, "Sleep! Or else I'll tell Raoul and you know how annoyed he will get that you are already up and about."
About to protest Kel realised it was useless and her eyes fluttered shut as her head touched her pillow.

When Kel opened her eyes she realised she was not alone. Dom stood bent over her his blue eyes filled with concern.
She smiled weakly and he said, "Kel how are you? No don't answer! Go back to sleep now!"
"Dom," she began weakly, "I'm fine."
He sighed relieved before she said, "You know when I was asleep I had the strangest dream."
"Oh and what might that have been?" Dom asked curiously.
Kel grinned slyly and said, "An interesting conversation between you and your cousin about your feelings for a certain Lady Knight."
Dom blushed extremely red and then Kel added, "Oh yes, also that you took advantage of me in my unconscious state."
Dom turned even redder but Kel couldn't help notice that his eyes seemed to darken a little as he whispered in her ear, "You said it was a strange dream, was it a good dream."
She leaned up and tilted her head so their eyes were level and she whispered back, "It was the most wonderful dream I've ever had."
Dom slipped his hand under her chin and brought her lips towards his own. Kel wrapped her arms around his neck and he pulled her closer to his body.

Neal stood outside with a grin plastered on his face and his hand outstretched. Merric was counting coins intio his hand scowling.
Neal placed his winnings into his pocket and said to Merric, "Told you it would only take a month."
With that Neal strode off down the hallway whistling merrily.
