A/N just a short drabble from the marauder days. Inspired by the Guess the Author Contest. Prompt: Sirius opened his eyes to see...
Sirius opened his eyes to see⦠Nothing. Curtain. Rolling his eyes, because he had genuinely expected to see something else, he opened the drapes around his four-poster to see what time it was. He looked out of the window and say the grey light of pre-dawn early morning. But he also noticed he wasn't the only one awake. Moony sat on the edge of his bed, his eyes on Sirius. He had been staring out of the window for some time but the sound of curtains being drawn had snapped him out of his stupor. Sirius grinned at him before falling back onto his bed and pretending to be fast asleep, snoring and rasping in a perfect imitation of Peter. Remus stuffed a fist in his mouth to keep from laughing which made Sirius' heart leap. He loved making Remus laugh, even more than he loved entertaining James. But that was because he felt slightly different about Remus. Sitting back up, he grabbed his wand and Banished some sweets in Remus' direction who caught them deftly. He began to eat some chocolate, more out of politeness than anything else, his eyes never leaving Sirius'. Feeling a bizarre sort of confidence, Sirius got up and made his way over to Remus, sitting down beside him. He could feel Remus tense up, his nerves never too far from the surface. He leaned closer and Remus didn't move. Sirius briefly wondered why he hadn't tried anything before, it was obvious this was meant to be. It felt too right for it not to work.
"What are you doing?" Remus managed to whisper, his voice barely audible.
"I want some chocolate." Came the immediate, smug reply before their first touch, the first time Remus forgot words even existed.
