Mistletoe

It's the most beautiful time of the year.
Lights fill the streets spreading so much cheer.
I should be hanging with my folks, I know.
But I'mma be under the mistletoe.
I don't want to miss out on the holiday,
but I can't stop staring at your face.
I'mma be under the mistletoe with you.
Derek had just found out that all the flights to Chicago had been cancelled. This was going to be the first Christmas he wouldn't be spending with his family. He called his mom and sisters to tell them he was sorry and he wished he could be there.
He sat in his living room on Christmas. He was lonely and sad. He suddenly got an idea of who he could spend Christmas with. Derek drove all the way to Emily's house, but made a quick stop first.
He stood at her door and said, 'Spend Christmas with me." Emily just looked at him wearily and asked, "Aren't you supposed to be in Chicago right now?" "All flights into Chicago were cancelled. Just, please, spend the day with me." Emily just stared at him and finally said, "Sure, I'll go."
Derek brought her back to his house and said, "Emily, we are going to have an all-out Christmas experience. Go pick out a fe Christmas movies." Emily walked over to his DVD collection and picked out two movies. They sat in his living room and watched both movies, enjoying each others' company.
After the movie, Derek cooked them a huge, Christmas dinner. Emily was shocked.
When they finished dinner, Emily went into the bathroom. Derek quickly stood up and grabbed what he had picked up before.
Emily walked out of the bathroom and Derek handed her a wrapped present. "Merry Christmas, Emily."
"Derek, you shouldn't have bought me this. This was all unexpected and I didn't get you anything."
"It's okay, Emily. Just open it." Emily quickly removed the wrapping and was speechless at what she found. It was an original copy of Slaughter-House Five by Kurt Vonnegut. "Oh, Derek this is amazing. Thank you." Emily said, hugging him.
Derek smiled at her and they began walking to the kitchen, but something caught Derek's eye and he stopped short. He turned around when Emily stopped and looked at her. She looked up and was shocked to see a mistletoe hanging above them. She took a chance and quickly leaned up and gave him a quick kiss on the lips. When she pulled back, she was shocked when he pulled her toward him and kissed her hard. He filled the kiss with everything he was feeling.
He pulled back and smiled at her. She just stared at him, still in shock, but with a smile on her face. "Emily, you just gave me the best Christmas present I could have asked for."
