Lily drew in a jagged breath, waved to her parents, and broke into a sprint heading towards the 9 3/4 platfrom - on the other side of the brick wall. She braced herself to hit the wall by closing her eyes and taking short, shallow breaths. Just as she was about to hit the wall, she closed her eyes and flinched, but by the time she opened her eyes, she was on the oher side. Gasping a sigh of releif, Lily pushed her cart towards th train. She studied her cart without stopping to make sure none of her items had been harmed, but both her trunk and her cat, Chester, seemed to be in the same condition as they were on the other side of the barrier.
As Lily stepped through the arched doorway, she was intantly floded with warm air, opposed to the crisp, chilly air outside. Her lips curved up into a nervous smile as she turned down a row towards the rest of the first years. She looked from left to right at all the filled compartments she noticed multiple strange things; moving pictures, chocolate frogs...jumping, and possibly the weirdest thing was that she seemed to be the only person alone.
She contined walking past the compartment noticing that none of the boys or girls seemed to be sitting with each other. She looked to her right and her body froze, while her heart doubled in pace. A compartment of boys including one that caught Lily's attention. Assuming he was a first year, she studied him. He had disheveled, black hair, straight, prominant features, and full, pink lips. He broke into a cooked smile and mouthed "hi." Finally realizing how long she had been staring at him, Lily mouthed "hello" back, looked down, and blushed a deep, scarlet red, before smiling and looking back towards him.
"Ohhh, James' got a girlfriend!" teased his friend. The other two boys chuckeld.
"Shut up, Sirius!" muttered James, punching him and knocking the other two upside the head. "Ow," they all mumbled, rubbing the spot they got hit.
Lily looked at the other boys. Sirius, the boy on James' right, was handsome although not as much so as James. His short, way, brown hair, barely covered his forehead. To James' left another handsoem boy sat. Dirty and rugged were the only two words Lily could think of to describe him and his sandy blonde hair. The last boy, farthest from Sirius, was not handsome at all. He was short and round with extremely buck teeth. Feeling no need to stand there and llok like anymore of a fool than she already did, Lily started to walk away.
She heard James tellingthe rest of the boys to know it off and giggled.
Already at least five comparments away she hear a faint "wait" and footsteps, falling closer. She turned to see James running closer. Face to face James and Lily both blushed.
"Sorry, I didn't catch your name," he stated.
"Lily," she muttered breathlessly.
"Oh, well, I'm James," Lily nodded knowingly before he continued, "and - ummm - er - sorry about my friends," he said jerking his thumb and looking back. His friends, who all had their heads stickin out of the compartment, flew back out of Lily and James' sight.
"Ok, well I better go find a seat," suggested Lily, hoping James would contradict.
"Mkay," muttered James, walking backwards to his seat, not taking his eyes of Lily.
She bit her lip and smiled at the same time. Only turning when James had disapeared into his compartment, and walked away smiling.
