Captain Swann

Disclaimer: I do not own Pirates of the Caribbean

Although it was highly irregular, Elizabeth had decided that in the world of seafaring and piracy, she would keep her maiden name. It would be too confusing for there to be two Captains Turner roaming the sea, and she certainly did not want to be mistaken for the captain of the Flying Dutchman. Although, with Will at the helm, the ship had been returned to it's original benign purpose, the legend remained as it had been when Davy Jones was captain. Perhaps in time, that would change, but for now, Elizabeth really didn't want people running in terror when they heard she was coming. Although, that could work to her benefit at times...

But she had made the decision early on that while on land she would introduce herself as Mrs. Elizabeth Turner, wife of a merchant sailor (who was away on a long sea voyage) and mother to young William James Weatherby. But while onboard ship and conducting business as Pirate King, she would be Captain Swann, Pirate Lord and King of the Brethren Court.

As with most pirates, including Jack Sparrow, there was the Pirate Legend, and then there was the real person behind the legend. Having a double identity suited Elizabeth just fine.
