Wow, it's been a long while since I published anything! So here's a little something on Supernatural. I wrote this at 3am last night and I do not have a beta so sorry in advance for any mistakes (also, remember English is not my birth language).
I hope you'll enjoy it, even if it's a bit sad.
Words count is 309.
Warning: SPOILERS FOR SEASON 7

A mark of Hope
Dean use to hate the mark Castiel left on his shoulder.
After he first discovered it and the months that followed, every time he saw it, all he could feel was an unbearable pain. Not just his but the one he inflicted to others when he was in hell.
All he could think about was how many people lost their life because he broke the first seal: Jo, Helen, Pam… and so many more.
He hated it when Anna touched it and even more every time Lisa did. He always avoid touching it himself, even when he took a shower and he never watched it either. He made sure to always wear T-Shirts long enough to cover it, even in the middle of summer.
It was the symbol of too many bad memories: his years in hell, Ruby's betrayal, Lucifer's rising, Cas slowly slipping away from them, back to heaven and of course Sam going to hell and coming back without his soul … It was too much to bear.
But now that Cas is gone, he can't keep his hand away from his mark. He keeps stroking it, keeps making sure it's still here. Because he knows that it's a bit of Castiel's grace in him and as long as it's still firmly burn into his arm, it means Cas can come back to reclaim this part of him he left with Dean. However bad it may be, even if he's trapped with the Leviathan, gone under water, Dean will always be an anchor Cas can come back too. Has long has Dean got his mark, Castiel will find him, he will live.
So dean must be sure it doesn't fade away.
It's not a mark of pain.
It's a mark of hope.
Hope that his angel will always come back to him.
