Death has a thousand faces. Evil has only one.

Face of Evil
For a moment, he is dominant.
One moment. One shining, horrible moment, and Sergeant First Class Tomas Sevchenko is a god. And kicking the helghast before him in the neck and sending him tumbling down to the hell that has been created, he acts like it as well.
No mercy. No compassion. No forgiveness.
Fires rage, matching his fury. Fires rage, matching the fate of those before him. Fire rage without, within and beyond as yet another enemy falls to the sergeant's hand, specifically the M82 he holds in it. Ammunition is in too short supply for these lesser beings. And while such thoughts seem reminiscent of the ones of another, one who has long since perished, they mean nothing to the hagged man, the scars on his face mirroring those within. He looks ahead at what is clear, not back. And what is clear is that there is yet another foe to deal with, the fire in his eyes matching that around them both.
The fires will never die...
The bastard attacks from the side, as is fitting of his kind. Deception, trickery...they come as second nature to the lesser species. And while part of the sergeant's mind raises query at such thought, most of his mind is focussed on blocking it. Raising one arm he blocks the soldier's blow, in turn bringing forth a flurry of his own. The creature before him cannot stand up to it. And ripping his mask from his face, he ends up not being able to stand at all.
The metal is cold...almost as much as the bodies of those the latest sinner has joined.
With curiosity, the one who stands triumphant, the one who finds himself as weak in the legs as he was when this state of existence began, bends down. Not in simple weakness, but in query. This mask, this device the foe wears...It could be useful. The fire heats the air around him, making it painful to breathe. While this device, this object is the face of evil, it will still serve its purpose. And without a second thought, without hesitation, he dons it.
And yet he wonders...
What if he isn't wearing a face of evil?
...What if he's wearing a mask for it?

May or may not be apparent, but this was based on the teaser trailer for Killzone 3. Although short, Sev wearing a helghast helmet raises some interesting implications.
