Zuma was one of the bravest pups of the PAW Patrol. Unlike the other PAW Patrol Pups, Zuma was constantly put in the dangers of the ocean such as drowning, attacks by ocean creature and Ocean Storms. It was such a surprise that none had happened to the poor puppy... Yet.
He one day found himself surfing after playing some Pup Pup Boogie and getting bored. He loved surfing. The breeze, the waves lapping over the board onto his feet, it was fun! He closed his eyes, feeling the cold wind brush against him. The waves got slightly bigger, and bigger, and bigger until...
"AAAAAAHHHHHH!" screamed Zuma inside his pup house.
It made Marshall jump in panic and he hit the ceiling of his own red pup house. Chase woke up instantly and ran towards the scream where he heard a sweaty Chocolate Labrador Puppy crying, though he could not see because the door was shut. He stood outside on guard for a moment, activating his collar. A voice came through on the comms system.
"Hi Chase. What's up?" Ryder said. He had not heard Zuma's scream but he could now heard the crying. "Is that crying in the background? What's going on Chase?"
"Ryder, you need to come and get Zuma. He is really upset." Chase said.
"I'll come down now." Ryder responded and he started making his way to the bottom of the Lookout via the pole, which was a very quick trip. He didn't feel like taking the pole, due to his tiredness, but he would rather be down there quickly than slowly.
Chase heard the slide doors open and Ryder's footsteps on the ground. He started making his way over to Ryder.
"What's wrong with him?" asked Ryder.
"I don't know. One moment he was fine, the next moment he screamed at the top of his lungs, shut his pup house door and started crying." said Chase.
Ryder could hear the almost screaming cries of Zuma from the door. Ryder and Chase started walking to the pup house where everyone was gathered around, wondering what set off the tears and muttering amongst themselves. Ryder came to the door.
"Zuma..?"
There was no response, just more crying and whimpers. "Zuma come on. If you want to you can come and sleep with me."
The door slowly opened. It was dark in the orange pup house. They saw movement. The crying had stopped for a moment. Slowly with tears running down his cheeks, Zuma walked out, then once out, ran straight into Ryder's open arms and started bawling again.
Ryder turned and began taking him to the Lookout Bedroom before stopping and turning to face the pups.
"I will tell you all in the morning. For now, get some sleep." He said, then turned back to the door and started walking, stroking Zuma to calm him down.
"Oh gosh, I hope Zuma will be okay." Skye said.
Marshall looked at her and said "It's almost like he is scared."
Chase chimed in. "But what could he be scared of. Zuma is one of the bravest pups of our pack. He saves sealife animals nearly everyday." Chase was curious and determined to find out what had scared the poor puppy in his sleep.
