Running away to go to school Part 1

Namine woke up with a start. Breathing hard, she looked at her cloak next to her.

4:30 am, huh? She thought. Right now, she had to go to Axel's house. She couldn't take it in her mother's house. It wasn't home to her. Never has, never will.

Being very quiet, Namine slipped on her shoes and put on a jacket. She climbed down the stairs, but unfortunately, she saw her mom.

Her mom was in front of the TV, sleeping, with a bottle of half-full beer in her hand. Next to her was twelve empty beer and wine bottles.

Namine was all this and ran up the stairs. She grabbed her book bag, school uniform, and her cell phone. She went down the stairs, making sure her mom didn't wake up and ran out the door.

Running as fast as she could, Namine turned left, right, then right again. Soon she was at her destination.

Big brother, she thought.

Namine walked into the house to find that there was an empty guest room. In the guest room, there was a bed, a bathroom, and a computer.

Namine unloaded her things in the closet and ran upstairs to find axels room. She picked a door and opened it.

Inside was a boy drooling on his pillow, snoring a little bit. Roxas… she thought. She shut the door and tried the next one. Finally! She said to herself, when she saw axel.

She climbed on the bed and gently shook him awake. Finally, he woke up.

"Who… What the… Namine? What are you doing here?" he goggled.

She tried not to laugh, "Can I stay with you?"

"Why? Wait, what did Mom do to you?" said Axel, wide-awake at last.

Namine sighed to stop from crying. She reached for the light and turned so her back was facing Axel. She slowly lifted up her shirt to reveal three huge purple- black bruises and one cut that looked a little infected.

"Namine… I'm so sorry," Axel said, examining her wounds. "Why?" he asked.

"I mentioned your name," she said simply.

"You can't live there anymore. She's killing you, little by little" said Axel.

"So, I can stay?" Namine asked.

"Of course!"

"Thank you!" she said, hugging him. "night."

She walked downstairs and she fell asleep in her new bed, feeling more at home than ever in her life.
