Lily was sitting in DADA, daydreaming about the scene she had seen earlier that day:

Lily was walking to breakfast that morning, taking the long way, pondering her feelings over James when she came across said person in a tight embrace with school whore Melissa Obry. Her heart twisted uncomfortably as she watched on, knowing that she liked James but still not knowing whether he was worth it. As she walked past she cleared her throat loudly causing James to jump and push the ho away from him, earning her an apologetic look from James and an evil look from the ho.

She was pulled out of her reverie by professor Coodwang announcing they would be paired up by the person they were sitting next to work on patronuses.

"Remember! Something happy!" he chimed

Lily looked to see who she was sitting next to for the first time and realised with a jolt it was James. They shared an awkward pause before James broke the silence.

"So… you want to get started?" he asked hesitantly.

Lily gave a curt nod.

All that both of them could conjure was a wispy sliver cloud. As the lesson went on the conversation came easier and both all but forgot that morning.

"Ok James," Lily laughed, "I think we should both face the other way and try alright? I think we're both distracting each other."

"I'm distracting you?" he smirked

"Oh shut up and just do it" she grinned.

They both turned around. Lily thought as hard as she could about how she felt when James kissed her that night during spin the bottle…they had both gotten a bit carried away and only stopped when Sirius gave a rather unsubtle cough.

"EXPECTO PATRONUM!" they both shouted.

A small beautiful doe erupted from the tip of Lily's wand. She had done it! She guided it around to the front of the desk where James was doing the same. She took a long look at their patronuses together and gaped. Standing proudly next to her doe was the most beautiful stag that she had ever seen. The stag and the doe were playfully teasing each other when she dropped her wand and turned her head to look at James.

James knew it. He knew they belonged together and this just proved it.

Lily looked at James. Her eyes clearly saying you were right all along and James looked back at her with a smug but exuberant expression.

Not thinking twice, Lily grabbed the back of his head and slammed their lips together. During DADA, with everyone watching, all their past fights put behind them. That morning now completely forgotten.
