The Disappearance of Derpy Hooves

Doctor Whooves sat straight up, another nightmare about the mare of his dreams flashing through his mind. His eyes were red, with bags, as he had been crying, which was one of the conditions of his Dream Anxiety Disorder, also known as Chronic Nightmares. He looked at the bed besides him, the bedsheet still made up. It hadn't been touched in three months. He had counted every single second since his precious muffin mare had disappeared. He got up, and began to walk at a leisurely tort, towards the TARDIS door. He knew that he had to be prepared. He looked out at Ponyville, the same, happy, cheery place welcoming him. Only, he didn't feel welcome. "How can the world be so happy, when my precious muffin mare is gone?" he asked, his voice somewhat hoarse from misuse. He walked back into the TARDIS. "TARDIS, have you located Derpy yet?" He felt a cheerful tingle, like a really fast nod yes, in his mind. "You did?! You found her!? OH, well then, Allons-y let's get going!" The TARDIS began making its trademark whorp-whorp sound as it flew away. "She's alive yes?" "Good." "WHAT!?" he screamed. According to the TARDIS, his muffin mare's mental state was going from happy to suicidal, and fast. "GO, GO, GO!" he yelled, hoping to get his precious Derpy back soon. In the meantime, he began singing her lullaby. "Stars, and moons, and air balloons…"

Derpy's POV

She walked along the edge of the lake. "Oh my doctor…" She was already halfway into the lake, and had her hooves buried in the mud, when she heard the TARDIS crash into the side of the lake. Her eyes widened, and she began struggling, hoping to alert the Doctor to her presence. Then, she did something stupid. She tried to yell, and lost all of the breath she had.

Doctor's POV

He saw the multitudes of ripples, the amount of bubbles, and practically flew into the water; quickly he grabbed his love's hooves, and got them unstuck. Then he put Derpy on his back and began to get out of the water.

Derpy's POv

I saw the Doctor come to save me! I buried my head into his coat, fearful that my time was over. WH-what was this blinding darkness! Help! I-I can't see! I-is this what ending feels like? I-it hurts!

Doctor's POV

I felt her body go limp, and practically flew out of the water, trying to get her to survive. He brought her onto the soft grass, and began to push her chest, desperately trying to perform CPR. Anything to allow her survival. "Please! Please!" he yelled until he got hoarse. "M-my muffin mare, my queen, please…" However, he was powerless to save the beautiful cross-eyed gray mare. He watched her head slump to the side, completely powerless, and he lay there, and he cried. He cried the familiar tears of loneliness, as he found himself without anyone to cry against, without anyone at all, but the limp forme underneath him.
