Abby pulled up in front of the train station. Jenny had just sent her a text about a new anomaly that had appeared at an airport, she would have to make this quick.

Finally Jack came out of the train station, carrying two suitcases and looking around nervously as he approached Abby's car. After a quick hello, he put his cases in the boot and got in next to Abby. She pulled out of the train station and headed for her flat.

"Thank's for taking me in, Abby" said Jack. Abby ignored him, Jack leaned closer. "You're not sorry for taking me in are you, you still love me don't you? I mean, I'm your brother and..."

"Jack of course I still love you!" snapped Abby irritably. "But as much as I love you, this is still very inconvenient for me! I'm gonna have to kick out my flatmate now because of you."

"Ah" said Jack. "So you've found someone else have you? Is it another guy?"

"Yes Jack, he's a guy, and there is nothing going on between us, we're just friends. And when you meet him I want you to be nice to him, he's not gonna be happy when I tell him that he's got to move out just because my baby brother can't seem to stay out of trouble with the law!"

"Look, I did not do anything!' insisted Jack. "Those cops just seem to have this completely unnessercary grudge against me, that's all."

"Jack!" snapped Abby. "You've been in trouble with the law ever since you were fifteen. I mean, I could give you a whole list of crimes you've committed since then. Shoplifting, robbery, drug abuse, breaking and entering, drink driving, driving without insurance, driving over the legal speed limit. They've already banned you from driving for life. And that is before we consider your gambling addiction. You owe your mate Joe over five thousand pounds for God's sake!"

"That wasn't my fault" grumbled Jack moodily. "How was I supposed to know that was as much as he wanted me to pay up?"

Oh I don't know, maybe because you put things at those stakes yourself!" said Abby sarcastically. "The point is Jack, is that you can't keep doing this, you can't expect them to always let you off with a warning every time. One of these days you're going to commit a real crime like stealing government property, and when you do they're not going to just let you off with a warning. They're going to put you in prison, maybe for six months, maybe for ten years, maybe for life even!"

"And when am I going to steal government property, eh?"

"Knowing you, one day in the very near future" said Abby. She pulled up to her flat.

"Here's the keys" she said as she handed them to Jack. "Now don't come out until I get back. I don't want to be arrested for harbouring a criminal in my home."

"I'm your brother!"

"Just stay indoors" said Abby as she drove off to the anomaly site.
